At Ludvig Svensson we believe in taking responsibility for our environment and our community since we have lived and worked in the same place for more than 120 years. By setting strict requirements on raw materials and by owning the entire manufacturing process, we control the entire production chain from the yarn used to the finished product. That means we know how the finished textile was produced, what it contains and what characteristics it has.

Since the 1970s we have worked to reduce our impact on the external environment – the water, air and land where our production is and where many of our employees live. We organise and manage our environmental work based on a business operating system. Our monitoring programme continually measures emissions and we are regulated by Västra Götaland County Administrative Board. We work to constantly reduce our emissions and replace chemicals and dyes with alternatives that have less environmental impact.
Our greenhouse climate screens are climate-smart, and help our customers to further reduce their energy consumption. All of the textiles from our two brands are durable and designed to remain both attractive and withstand washing for many years. Our factory in Qingpu, China is owned by us, which means we can also ensure the quality of its processes. Of course, we set the same high standards for raw materials and manufacturing processes in China as we do in Sweden.
Our ISO 14001 certified environmental management system is integrated with our business operating system. We feel confident in the way our business operates owing to our constant identification of the environmental aspects of our business (which are significant in view of our operating license) and to operating according to our policy on the environment and safety, taking account of applicable laws and requirements. This enables us to have a clearer understanding of environmental aspects and the process of improvement further develops the company. This methodical approach will reduce our impact on the environment and provide us with a more "sustainable" business concept.
